EuSino is gevestigd in Amsterdam, Nederland, dat wordt beschouwd als de toegangspoort tot Europa. De stichting organiseert voor Chinese bedrijven en (overheids)instanties met diverse achtergronden zogeheten 'fact finding trips': kennismaking met bedrijven en instanties in Europa uit dezelfde branches. Doel is altijd een langdurige samenwerking tot stand te brengen.

Doordat EuSino beschikt over medewerkers van zowel Nederlandse als Chinese achtergrond is de stichting uitstekend in staat beide partijen, China en Nederland/Europa, bij elkaar te brengen. EuSino beschikt bovendien over een ruim netwerk van contacten in de Volksrepubliek China. Die contacten, de guanxi, zijn onontbeerlijk om een succesvolle onderneming of samenwerking tot stand te brengen.

In het verleden heeft EuSino delegaties ontvangen van onder meer: het Chinese Ministry of Construction, dat een letter of intent sloot met de nieuwe Chinatown in Amsterdam, diverse delegaties uit de provincie Shandong op het gebied van milieu (afvalwaterverwerking e.d.), het Ministry of Science and Technology en het Beijing Landscape Bureau. In samenwerking met dit laatstgenoemde Bureau werd in oktober 1998 een tentoonstelling georganiseerd in Beijing, met foto's van de Keukenhof. Doel van deze expositie was om langdurige samenwerking tussen het Bureau en de Keukenhof tot stand te brengen.

Daarnaast treedt EuSino op als intermediair voor Nederlandse onderwijsinstellingen die samenwerking zoeken met Chinese hogescholen en universiteiten. Hiertoe is een project opgezet in samenwerking met de Friends of China Research Foundation (FCRF) in Beijing.

projectmanagers m/v, die op freelance basis projecten opzetten en begeleiden.

vrijwilligers m/v, die de projectmanager(s) willen assisteren bij het uitwerken van projecten. Een interessant 'opstapje' voor een ieder die belangstelling heeft voor China.

Field of activities
EuSino invites and receives more than 50 delegations yearly (with a group size ranging in general from 2 to 40 members from all over China. Most people come here to create an exchange of know-how, trade promotion, for a training workshop, fact finding trips and gathering expertise. We are looking forward to doing the follow-up and we will stay on top of emerging key developments in China.

Some features:

Sister cities
Sister city relationships can serve as a strong basis to develop further economic relations in both nations. It's clear that we should try to use and expand the links that already exist by looking for new projects to strengthen cooperation, instead of looking for new links.

Training workshop
Because of China's recent entry into the WTO, there has been a growing interest and pressure to follow training-workshops on finding European trade partners and to get to know business policies and structures of the EEC member states. Holland has the tradition of being an open country, in terms of transferring knowledge and technology, and maintaining a fair trade policy. Two delegations from the commercial trading field and one delegation from the field of traditional heavy metal industry visited the Netherlands.

Promote New Chinatown Amsterdam
EuSino brought together the Foundation New Chinatown Amsterdam, and the Ministry of Construction, Beijing, which lead to the signing in 1998, of a letter of intent between these two parties. This greatly increased the mutual interest and the future prospects for close cooperation, as one of the key aims of New Chinatown is to create an Asian Trade Center. EuSino afterwards introduced all the delegations from the Chinese Ministry of Construction to local Dutch companies and organizations. The New Chinatown in Amsterdam will be ready in 2004. EuSino will continue to support the New Chinatown project.

Science and Technology cooperation
A group from the Beijing Association for Science and Technology visited the TNO Institute of Nutrition and Food Research, Leiden. During discussions with the City of Amsterdam, the further development of the Science Park in Beijing and the cooperation with Amsterdam Science Park was one of the interesting topics. EuSino is interested to expand this cooperation with the Beijing Association for Science and Technology under the umbrella of the existing sister city relationship.

Women feminist delegation
A delegation of women from the China Women Development Foundation visited the famous historical feminist archive (IIAV, International Information Center and Archive for the Women's Movement). Their intention is to set up an Internet link and to exchange information on the world wide web.

Promotion of Study in the Netherlands
A China Vocational Education delegation visited the Netherlands. Export and transfer of knowledge and technology was the main interest of the Dutch organizations they met during their visits. Talks were held with representatives of several organizations, such as NUFFIC and Amsterdam University. The Dutch start to take the Chinese education market serious. For instance, a delegation went to the China International Education Fair in 2000. This year, EuSino wishes to focus much more on this field by setting up an affiliate organization which will design a study programme for Chinese students.

Business start-up in the Netherlands
There is an increase of interest for Chinese enterprises to start a company in the EEC, especially the privately owned enterprises. They want to have a direct contact with the international market. For example, more than 50 Chinese companies will participate in the founding of a Chinese Trade Center in Rotterdam. EuSino is in contact with different parties both in Shandong Province and in the Netherlands, in order to create some kind of Business Support office.

What can EuSino do for YOU?
EuSino organizes investigation tours and training programmes, assists setting up joint ventures and signing contracts between Dutch and Chinese parties, maintains international contacts etc.
EuSino helps promoting the Netherlands to China, arousing Dutch companies' interest in Chinese emerging vast market and offering more business opportunities to Dutch companies with Chinese partners. For EuSino, promoting the Netherlands is a succesful and durable activity, and good results are visible already after a short while. A training workshop where knowledge and technology are transferred and exchanged, is one of the best ways to promote the Netherlands.
